Ashes on the ground
Part I
Face tear-stained and blurry
No more, no time to worry
Trees whisper without a sound
With the ashes on the ground
Ashes on the ground
Clinging to the soil with fear and sorrow
See her no more, never again, never tomorrow
To the earth she is bound
With her ashes on the ground
Ashes on the ground
Part II
Down beneath, she lives with roots
Flesh and bones, now blackened soot
For her to come back, I pray
Ashes on the ground, night and day
Ashes on the ground
Stepping on unseen bones that crack
Them and the ashes, oh so black
Every sad and miserable day passes
Holding to the ground, stay her ashes
Ashes on the ground
Love and hope, gone from me
Us torn apart by destiny
My true love’s gone
Caught up in the choking, death song
Ashes on the ground
In her earth bed, she sleeps without a sound
Deep and dark, buried in the dank ground
Thus, who’s to save her?
Help her and me, as a favor
Ashes on the ground
Part III
My prayers came true, she’s comin’ back
No more ashes and bones of black
Hear that rumble ‘neath the earth
It’s the time of the time of her rebirth
Ashes on the ground
Grass parts, clay cracks
Tis’ not thy love that’s comin’ back!
O’er the hill I watch in hate and agitation
It’s not thy love, but a devil’s creation
Ashes on the ground
Part IV
Jaws snapping, a wolf of three heads
Such a grotesque sight brings such dreads
Fur of black, and eyes of red
‘Strike at the heart,’ a soft voice said
Ashes on the ground
I turned, and to my dismay
Stood my love, my Oda Grey
Dressed in white, her soul glowed
With this heavenly light I was bestowed
Ashes on the ground
Part V
‘I must leave, my love
To go up to heaven above
I’ll wait forever, until you come
Together we’ll be, in everlasting love
Nothin’ will separate us, below or above’
Ashes on the ground
With that back on the earth
I stabbed the heart of the creature of death
It cried painfully and went to die
I stood there, staring at the sky
I knew it was time for Oda Grey to die
Ashes on the ground
I know, it's dark. But it just reminded me of when my great-grandmother died. Except for the demon, duh!
