Mace paused as he stared off the cliff toward the city. He sighed sadly. The Fifty had dwindled, many going over and joining the Murders. He was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he barely noticed the crack of a twig behind him.

Curse my sight! Why did I have to go blind in one eye?! With any luck, he didn't hear me Lightning thought as she crept up silently behind Mace. Once she was close enough to use Ryo-sui-sen (I have no clue if that is spelled right), she had stepped on a twig, instantly losing her focus. She sprang at Mace, sword unsheathed, and pinned him down, her sword dangerously close to his neck.

Mace reached out and grabbed her wrist in a crushing grip, applying his super strength, "Aren't you a little young to have joined the Murders?"

I've got nowhere else to go, so why shouldn't I? she said, her tone completely emotionless. She felt no pain from him grabbing her wrist, and switched the edge of her sakabato so the sharp side was facing him. //A sakabato is a reversed-edge sword, just to let you know// This guy is weak. I could kill him right now if I wanted to. But that would be to easy. She thought, listening, trying to tell if anyone else was around, not daring to take her vision from her hostage, because that was how she was blinded...she had been careless and stupid and looked away for only a moment, but that moment had cost her something she could never get back. She moved the blade of her sword closer to his neck, and hoped that he hadn't noticed she was partially blind. If he finds out, he'll pity me, then go easy. But he won't get, I have to feelings, no pain, making me unstoppable. He can do whatever he wishes, but he won't get out of this unmarked. The Fifty will pay for what they did to me! she thought tightening her grip on the hilt of her sword.

"You could have come to the fifty," Mace said, watching carefully, then it hit him, she was blind in one eye. He should have noticed before but it almost worried him. She was more powerful for her other senses would be keener...He felt the blade against his throat and knew it was time to move. Taking his free hand, he slammed it into the girl's side hitting her hard enough move her off of him, while pushing her wrist away.

Get out from behind that tree, you coward! Lightning said, pointing her sword momentarily at the child behind the tree, then placing it back by Mace's neck.

But that was all that Mace needed, he shoved her off of him and rolled backwards, getting to his feet and drawing his mace. He whirled it as he passed it from hand to hand, trying to itimadate the girl, he didn't want to hurt her but he was not going to lay down and die. He knew that even teenagers at this young of age could be deadly and full of hate. "Lullby stay there!" he called. He didn't want her getting hurt.

I'm such an idiot! Why did I do that? And why is he swinging his mace like that? He looks like an idiot. She thought, emotionless. Not taking her good eye off of him, she said, once again pointing her sword at the child, Do what I said, now, and I won't harm you. She sheathed her sword and sat on the ground, not taking her gaze off of Mace. You look like an idiot doing that. she said, emotionless, commenting on the way he was swinging his sword.

Lightning easily scooted to the side, avoiding Mace's attack without even standing up. You'll have to do better than that. Suddenly, she moved, but to Mace and the girl, she looked as if she hadn't even moved. But after she was back to where she was, a few locks of Lulaby's hair fluttered to the ground. Next time she will lose more than hair. Now, are you going to put down your weapon? She asked Mace, emotionless once again.

Lulaby gasped at how fast Lightning could move, for a moment Lulaby thought it was impossible.Yet sthen she relised that a mind reading kid was impossible also.
Lulaby scooted farther away from Lightning and Mase, she hadto do something.Lulaby quickly rased at Lighting, before she got to close she scooped up Mace's mace ((Lolz)) then swung it weakly at Lightning.

That's a good boy. Now sit down over there where I can see you. She said, pointing under the tree where Lulaby was hiding, and hoped that he didn't ask any questions along the lines of 'can't you see me right here?' If he's stubborn, he might just lose an arm. she thought, glaring at him. She grabbed the mace in her hand, took it from the child, and stapped in on her belt next to her sheath, and, in doing that, flung Lulaby under the tree.
