The sun hung lazily in the sky, it's rays of golden light casting shallow groves of shadows running for cover. The heat beat down on the pavement of sidewalks and people outside carried sunglasses and bottles of cool water, dripping with humidity. The day was quite bright for April, and many were heading to the beach for a relaxing day of swimming in the lake, playing beach volleyball and swathing and sun tanning in the brilliant, rippling heat waves. Tree leaves shone like polished gems after many days of pounding rain and wind stripping of layers of bark and branches, the sun reflected the droplets and each glittered like gold. A rainbow sprung cloud, to cloud in the sky, casting showers of happiness and colour in all directions. Stripes of violet, scarlet, indigo and gold were strung in the sky like banners of coloured aluminium. The clouds where dense and thick, but fluffy and soft as cotton with faint shades of aqua in their creamy depths. The sky was a rich, soothing peafowl blue, way down to the horizon it turned to a light orange topped with pink like strawberry icing.
In the midst of this deliteful day, one individual was a bundle of sizzling nerves as she strutted down the block, a tight bun holding together her fountain of rich, red-brown hair from cascading down her back and gathering the warmth like heat gathering in a oven. A bang of silky, peachy gold hair swept across her bright face, with cherry red cheeks. The girl's eyes sparkled like cuts of sapphire in flamed with a fire of fiery blue chips of ice, cooling her piercing gaze to a calm confident look. Her long legs ended with delicate feet, protected with a light tan sandal and pink straps. No scars blemished her face with shame or pride of a distant battle, only the depth of casualness, which lulled you into a swirl of clouds. Her arms were also lenthened just the right way to match her flowing hair and strong legs. Her fingers ended with light pink nails, clean and well kept, even without nail polish. A beaded bracelet hung from her wrist, bouncing and catching the sun with each step. The light, hot pink T-shirt that she wore, swayed with each small breeze that crossed her path, with three pink buttons on the top, each carfully pressed through the button holes except the first one, which hung loose and flapped in the wind to show inner confidence. Knee length skirts were patterned with light and dark pink stripes, adding contrast with the matching hair clip the perched her mane of individual hairs. Overall, she was stunning, in appearance and temperament.
Fragment carfully parted a bush into halves, careful to see that no one was watching, then she stepped into the woods next to the aged sidewalk. The tangle of stripped wood, bushes, vines and all different types of plants scratched at Fragments cloths and skin, seeming desperate to have the as their own. She shoved branched out of her face and plowed through the underbrush which had grown out of control in the great plant conditions. The mud under her sandals grew soft and slushy and sucked at her feet, popping with bubbles of rotten remains. Fragment drew back in digest and rounded the pool of muck. As she drew close to the last acre of brush before the building's base, she sat down on a rock for a short moment, watching a falcon swooping in between the trees and diving for a mouse. The echo of its screech pounded in her ears and once again, she trudged on. As she pushed through a fern grove at the edge of the building's base clearing, she spotted a dirt path winding through the trees just next to where she broke out of the forest. Jeez....she thought restlessly, I could of took the easy way instead on tumbling through that forest!
She brushed the dirt and mud off her clothes, and fixed her bun after pulling a brush through to rid of the naughts out of it, then stratten her back and strodded up to the large base, which towered over her like a elephant. It seemed to be saying; think you can handle it?" Yes I can!" She snorted back at it. And with that, she rose one hand, and pounded three times on the door, the noise ringing in her ears while she stood confidently at the door. She may of been 10 years old, but she could handle this.
